Nancy, I hope you and your family had a very merry Christmas! I just wanted to let you know that Miranda is settling in well. She has quite the personality, as you already know. Nothing seems to intimidate her. My male Verdict is over 90 lbs and that doesn't seem to enter her mind as she is attacking him. Hahaha! I just finished watching them have a wrestling match that she clearly won! She would put both of her front paws on either side of his huge head and just start biting at him and not letting go. I am of course thankful that he is so gentle with her, but his huge mouth of teeth do not scare her in the least! She has seemed to attach herself to me. I know you are the reason for that and I thank you for the pre-spoiling you did. She follows me around and lays at my feet for however long I stay there. She is also doing great at potty training. I have learned her signs and take her out right away. She will go and do whatever business she needs to do and then come back to me for praise. She has such an even temperament. She is sweet and loving at times and full of energy and ready to play at others. I couldn't ask for a better puppy. She fits in perfectly with our family! Thank you again for her and all of your help! Talk to you soon! Janice Sent from my iPhone Puppy 5 Pick of Litter Girl $2,000.00

Letters by DeborahDear Nancy, I wanted to give you an update on Shava. She is the smartest dog that I have ever had in my life. She is limited only by my lack of knowledge in training her!! She has made the adjustment to our farm family just fine. She is absolutely beautiful. Our home looks like we have a two year old living with us. She has toys in every room. Even with all the toys sometimes she just wanders around "looking" for something else to get into !! She has had a lot of different animals to learn about including my African Gray Parrot, General. General gets down on the bottom of her cage and calls the "puppy" or "kitty" very sweetly with a nice whistle. When the "victim" gets close she tries to bite their nose. Then she says, "OUCH!" I wanted to share how I named Shava. For days after we picked her up we thought of dozens of names. None seemed to fit or stick. One morning very early I was driving to Montgomery by myself. All of a sudden the word "shava" was in my head. I had never heard of that word in my life. I texted my niece and asked her to look the word up. She wrote me back and said that "SHAVA" is a Hebrew word which means to Shout or Cry Out. It is in the Bible 21 times. I was so humbled that God had named my dog. When He does something so personal it is amazing. Shava and I are working on Sit, Down, Come and Fetch. We are also doing to leash work so she will get use to and not chase chickens and guineas. She LOVES water. We had a wonderful time one day with my two oldest Grandsons playing with large chunks of ice and walking on it. I am sending some pictures. Thank you for all your hard work through the years in breeding such wonderful dogs! I look forward to meeting you in person one day! Sincerely, Deborah and Shava

I have several sable color puppies.
What is a sable color?
Did you know that the sable (Agouti, is the correct term for Sable) color was actually the original and dominating pattern of the entire German Shepherd breed? Many believe it to be the black and tan but it is not. The first German Shepherd Dog that was recorded in 1899 was a male that was sable in color and weighed between 60 and 70 pounds.
The sable German Shepherds are best known for the characteristic of the multi-colored individual hairs. The sables are known to get dark as they mature and keeps developing his final color up until the age of three or so. The sables may appear in many shades of silver, gray, gold or mahogany colors and often times they will have a dark mask. Sable German Shepherds can also go through many stages of coat development, both lightening an darkening before they reach maturity. Sables often resemble their two-tone counterparts such as the black an tan saddle back German Shepherds. The sables individual hairs have more than one color on each of them creating a very unique pattern specific only to that individual dog. There is quite an array of hues in the sable German Shepherd colors ranging from the lightest tans to the darkest blacks. It is also important to know that this type of coat coloration is dominant over all the others. Another name for this type of coloring is wolf gray.
The German Shepherd eye color should be dark or at least blend in well with the color of the dog. Any nose color other than black is a disqualification. Any sable German Shepherd Dog coat shade is acceptable but the richer hues are always preferred. Pale washed out colors, shades of blues and livers are considered serious faults.
The sable is a gorgeous color and one of my favorites on the long coat German Shepherd dog. Like many people I had no idea how pretty they were until the first time I saw a long coat sable German Shepherd. My opinion the sable short coats are very nice looking but the long coat are ten times prettier. I am just a little prejudice I reckon. Czar, the dad to these puppies is a sable, take a look at his picture on the bottom of this page to see how gorgeous he is.
