Who can resist those big brown eyes and cute doggie grin? Can a little reward from the table or getting into Mom or Dad’s stuff really hurt your dog? Well, that depends on what it is and what's in it. If it contains the sweetener xylitol, it can cause your dog some real problems. In fact, there’s a lot of people food your dog should never eat. And, it’s not just because of weight. Some foods are downright dangerous for dogs -- and some of these common foods may surprise you.

German Shepherds are large, muscular dogs.
They are confident and loyal. A good German Shepherd needs a strong owner who can be the pack leader. Good training is important for this breed. They will not become aggressive without reason. One of the most popular breeds in the US, German Shepherds are a good breed if you have time to train them correctly. The German Shepherd or Alsatian is a German breed of working dog of medium to large size. The breed was developed by Max von Stephanitz using various traditional German herding dogs from 1899. It was originally bred as a herding dog, for herding sheep.
Trust in him at all times, O people pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
I have recently learned about degenerative-myelopathy and it is not a nice disease. Canine degenerative myelopthy, also known as chronic degenerative radiculomyelopthy, is an incurable, progressive disease of the canine spinal cord that is similar in many ways to amyotropic lateral sclerosis. Onset is typically after the age of 7 years and it is seen most frequently in the GSD, Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and boxer dog, though the disorder is strongly associated with a gene mutation in SOD1 that has been found in 43 breeds as of 2008. Progressive weakness and incordination of the rear limbs are often the first signs seen in affected dogs, with progresson over time to complete paralysis. Myelin is an insulating sheath around neurons in the spinal cord. One propsed cause of degenerative myelopathy is that the immune system attacks the sheath, breaking it down. This results in a loss of communication between nerves in lower body of the animal and the brain.
I want my followers to know that I will be testing my dogs for DM. This is just another way to help preserve the long coat breed. I am enjoying this new litter of pups. They are now 9 weeks and I only have 3 left for sale. I will miss them when they are gone. They are so cute, smart, and full of love and energy. Thank you to all who have purchased one of my dogs.

Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it. From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing.... Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him. This alone is amazing. If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field. Attached to the horse's halter is a small bell. It lets the blind friend know where the other horse is, so he can follow.
As you stand and watch these two friends, you'll see that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse, and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is, trusting that he will not be led astray. When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, it stops occasionally and looks back, making sure that the blind friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell. Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges. He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need. Sometimes we are the blind horse Being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives. Other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way.... Good friends are like that... You may not always see them, but you know they are always there. Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours. And remember... Be kinder than necessary - - - Everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly....... And leave the rest to God! FOR WE WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT! True courage is not absence of fear,
but reaching out in faith in spite of fear.
